Its a yearly cultural occurrence on this site. The summer festival released its lineup and I think I already got a summer tan just thinking about walking through its gates, drinking coffee, having some form of Smorgasborg food and [coffee] drink purveyed by the Brooklyn Flea while hearing some beloved musicians.
With the lineup announced, here’s 3 reasons why I’m just already hopping these summer gates already.
ONE: Coffee and music are one of my favorite pairs. So, its such a delight to hear that Okayplayer, “the original progressive urban music site…premier digital destination for music connoisseurs worldwide,” celebrates 15 years of its existence with “Black Coffee Live’ in association with OkayAfrica. Um…yea, I’m already in love!
TWO: Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange is playing. Pause! Like whoa!
THIRD: Moses Sumney, a fave of this cultural space for a while now, shares the lineup with him. Pause, Longer! Like Extra Whoa!
Remember when he was smdlr’s artist of the day, then seeing him at School Night, and then at SXSW for the Saint Heron showcase. Oh, yes we’re ready for it. P.S. a scroll through his Instagram feed, you’ll see some really cool coffee culture.
cupUp to coffee, music and the summer! Happy times are here.
