Coffee has come along way from the legend of a goat in a country where historically only women make it.

The annual Good Food Awards held its ceremony in San Francisco on to announce and celebrate achievement in food. The categories include beer, charcuterie, cheese, chocolate, cider, confections and coffee –  this culture’s foremost interest – fish, honey, oils, pantry, pickles, preserves and spirits. Sixteen coffee companies were nominated in the coffee category from California to Virginia, Texas to New Jersey.

With three roasters from California; one from Wisconsin, one from Virginia and two from New Jersey this culture’s eyes were on these among the full 27 garnering a nomination to get an indication where the palate of America fell for this 2018 year.

So, congratulations are in order to 15 of the nominees of this years’ awards that are now Good Food Award winners. The winners come from the states of California (3), Colorado (1), Florida (1), Oregon (1), Missouri (1),  Montana (1), New Jersey (2), Pennsylvania (1), Texas (1), Virginia (1), Washington (1), Wiscsonin (1) These finalists all represented the country of Ethiopia. What sweep for the birthplace of coffee.  Should this culture be surprised? A sweep is always such. Now lets go to Ethiopia.
