On December 20th, two human beings were killed in a patrol car in Brooklyn as I walked to the coffee shop. Little did I know or the scores of us around what was really happening. But, we found solace in community, in the place that this space is committed to document. Throughout the following hours we, found refuge in the only spaces not prohibited by yellow tape, with a cup of something hot and with our hearts even hotter.
This is David Blaze, who discovered the situation as he was trying to get home after learning the trains were suspended, “I think I’m going to have to move out of Brooklyn.”
