The Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations are out. Indiewire writes about the announcement giving praise to “Birdman” written, produced and directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu. The film – leading the SAG Awards with fifteen nominations – is about a has-been Hollywood actor looking to reinvigorate his career by writing, directing and starring in an adaptation of “What We Talk About When We Talk About Love”, the play by Raymond Carver.
Why does all this matter to coffee culture? Well, take a close look at Indiewire’s lead photo and you’ll see it chooses to use an image with coffee playing a role. I love it! It’s just amazing how coffee and its culture permeate the arts. Now, off to see the film, this scene and all the cultural gems its acting nominees Michael Keaton, Edward Norton and Emma Stone have in store. #putabirdonit
