No, we’re not counting down the last days of summer just because half of August is nearly over. No, we’re not. Nor is Gossip Coffee’s summer party with a house DJ, tapas menu and free samples is going live on a Thursday night.

Call it an affogato party because it is. The app Drink Morning hosts an afternoon affogato party in Singapore. Creamier Handcrafted ice cream will have the privilege of being paired with coffee from PPP, April Coffee Roastery and St. Ali. Three different roasts and their respective profiles poured over Creamier Handcrafted ice cream, enables a desert aficionado to explore the love of coffee and ice cream.

Named after one of Chicago’s storied newspapers, The Chicago Tribune, this food festival slates itself as new. In its second year, the “A celebration of this city’s foodways from mom-and-pop taco joints to fine-dining restaurants,” says Joe Gray, Chicago Tribune Editor, about its return.
Occurring for 18 days across the city and throughout a lot of events there’s dinners, pop-ups and classes.
One pairing to look forward to is the Stan’s Donuts and Coffee event where the company will bring the “What is black and white and red all over” donut, just for the festival. They note that all proceeds will be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The red velvet cake donut with cream cheese frosting and Oreo crumble will be available at all Stan’s Donuts & Coffee locations for the duration of the event.

Coffee’s birthplace is Ethiopia. This historical and cultural fact makes sharing a film which documents travels to Ethiopia interesting. Wax and Gold, An Ethiopian Origin Story is framed as “a nuance narrative portrait” of Ethiopia, in partnership with Farm League the documentary is a chance to travel to origin through the lens of a screen.

Its tradition that the film slate for the eponymous Telluride Film Festival is released at its start. However, a look at films isn’t needed to suggest that a visit to this town during the end of August and the beginning of September warrants all the dark room viewings and a tour of the areas coffee shops to keep you awake.
