That something is the classic combination of a coffee and a doughnut. Little did I know that coming to the toasted ice cream colors of the new ICDC – an ice cream, coffee and doughnut shop – that I would discover a reason to daydream a little more about coffee and its ultimate companion, the doughnut.

I was immediately taken with its toasted ice cream colors, an easy to understand menu and an unencumbered check out where I could easily watch my coffee prepared. Then the coffee came and this doughnut in the best little kept brown bag.

Yes, this space is intimate. And, yes it might get just a little crowded, given the sign above the espresso machine where is pulled, which says capacity: five. However, I like to think some of the grandest things are shared in the smallest of spaces. I had a cappuccino with soy milk pulled with espresso from Australia’s Vittoria Coffee Roasters. This was my first time having the roaster and I asked why this roaster, “everyone asks for Australian coffee, and they make great coffee.”

With one hand I sipped through foam and with another pleased my lips through successive sugar dusting with a gluten free, brown butter doughnut. Watch out heart!
