As said last year in my first installment for SXSW, “Music is a balanced seesaw for coffee culture.” This week, if your in Austin or streaming from afar here’s four ways that coffee and music happily collide at South By.
With musical sessions – rock and hip hop – should be enough music for everyone. As Kanye has said rap – hip hop’s cousin – “is the new rock and roll.”
Making its first appearance at SXSW, La Colombe Coffee will be cold brewing it for the people at East Side Pedal Pushers [3/19].
Then, to kick off the weekend will make a cameo at Friends & Neighbors for the Free People daytime music showcase [3/20] 1-6 p.m. includingTaylor and the Wild Now, Family and Friends, Nikki Lane and Jamestown Revial. Get coffee, get music, get cultured.
The park is within the circumference of any live music event inside or outside. Stop here for local Lucky Lab Coffee Co – a mobile coffee bar – billed as a high end espresso bar with locally roasted beans with a dose of southern hospitality – from.
Try the Hair of the Lab, with a side of pop-tarts for your daily fuel.
From little Italy to the heart of the Spotify house, Two Hands NYC and Café Kombi joins the house with Supper, an app creating mixtapes around food.
Given that coffee and music remains one of this spaces jam, a nod to these two NY outpost slinging the coffee while artists like Leon Bridges, Twin Shadow, Passion Pit, Ibeyi, SZA and Wale play the house’s schedule throughout the festival.
