What if well made artisan goods with a story and function of their own, could pop up impromptu, into the lives of everyday people who visually embody the tale of that products origin?
That was the question I posed to Kaufmann Mercantile -an online store- sourcing goods like curated heirlooms of now and then, in their ethos of “more of what matters.”
For Kaufmann Mercantile, my premise is simple, to select goods I organically love and would use in my everyday journeys, then travel with them as the coffeetographer™ to coffee shops around New York. Once there, my aim is to find a person whose personal style speaks to me and to the history of the goods as part of the things I carry. Then, invite them to interact with it. Thus this idea, of a journey of goods moving me and us, from spring to summer was conceived and is now born.
I invite you and I welcome you, to join me at smdlr’s features tab and via the Kaufmann Mercantile newsletter for this visually driven journey, from the artisan’s origin to the people’s watering hole for “more of what matters” – the people, the stories. cde
