Culture Cooler: Three things To Talk About From the Weekend. 12 | 1

Cafe Loustic

Cafe Loustic

1. Paris |  Loustic Cafe

When a specialty coffee shop invests in its online presence its kind of a big deal.  And, when a coffee shop announces an update to its online presence like Loustic did over the weekend, with the one-liner, “The Best Coffee in Paris,” its an even bigger deal. While coffee is subjective, Loustic is often listed as one of the must-visit coffee shops for those seeking coffee and its culture.  With such a confident update, Loustic has my attention again, and warrants at least an adventure there to see how ‘best’ is done.

Great coffee isn’t limited to specialty coffee shops, nor the the lifestyle spaces where coffee finds a natural home alongside ones daily activities. Jack Benchakul is proof of this conjecture, known for creating coffee in L.A. and from all directional points including Downtown, Culver City, Highland Park, to his current Cognoscenti Coffee pop-up within the four corners of Scoops Chinatown. What an interesting pairing and one that surely is to be a journey one scoop and shot at a time.

Over the weekend, Small Business Saturday occurred, a recent annual tradition of shopping small and supporting local business. When I think of small and business my beloved coffee shops pop up as key players. They popped as such on Instagram too, weekend this past weekends’ hashtag project being #WHPsmallshops? Search the hashtag and you’ll see scores of small coffee shops. #cupUp
