art:. Viky Garcia’s Mothers Milk at Subject

a room full of treasures

A spectrum of enamel whites and beige play in the world of mother and child and pops up in an art exhibition Mothers Milk by Brooklyn based Spanish photographer and visual artist, Viky Garcia’s

Using everyday images Garcia explores the theme of relationship between humans and objects. The artist states, “in monochromatic tableaux, using myself and my mother as models, I construct narratives that address psychological conflict.”

Given the universal spaces that one can found themselves in, Garcia’s exploration mirrors  a journey any viewer with artistic expression may found themselves embarking on, be it  from within the trope of a space where milk is physically found  – like a coffee shop – to the symbolic interpretation of what a Mothers Milk can mean. Enjoy these images, they are otherworldly.

And if in New York, visit the one night exhibition pop-up tonight at Latin American Gallery, Subject.
