In this third wave world of the mighty agricultural bean there is so much to learn. Given this fact, I enjoy having coffee firsts.
Neighbor and good friends at Café Grumpy extended an invitation to see their Greenpoint roaster in operation. Until taking this tour, my knowledge of the roasting process was culled from myriads of articles, blogs, slideshows and videos.
After this up close and heated personal experience, I’m inspired to continue this cultural and communal revolution by visiting and documenting as many roasteries as I can. After all, where would our beans be without the hands that take them from green to great? Enjoy the tour.
