Inspiration is everything to smdlr. Its why coffeetography is so important to the heart of this online space,it allows the human element of storytelling. And, while in the space of coffee culture, being enamored with the sound of these spaces and the music it plays has brought us to covering festivals and shows with an ear to what should be playing in a coffee shop near you.
So, with the announcement of the ninth installment of Lightning in a Bottle Music and Arts Festival, ears here are ringing, for all the confluence of culture that this festival will bring with coffee occurring alongside it. After all, it’ll be May, it will be warm and caffeination will be necessary. Cue coffee culture and the documentation of it as happening!
The line-up includes some faves previously featured here on the site as artists of the day or in the curated mixtapes from barista competitions: Chet Faker, Little Dragon, Beck, and that we’ve seen in person, plus some other coveted musicians that we’ve heard playing in coffee shops across America.
