music:. Saint Heron x SXSW, Cheer Up Charlies

the house Saint Heron built

There was a time when R&B was rhythm and blues. Somehow, its rhythm started singing its own blues, lost in the airwaves of the genres that comprised it. Though seemingly lost, it wasn’t forgotten. Thanks to many soul angels, like the ones on show for Saint Heron x Puma’s showcase – Iman Omari, Petite Noir, Moses Sumney, BC Kingdom, Kelela, and Tweet –  its disambiguity is dissipating, with a generation – birthed by a generation that grew up with its sound – giving voice to the renaissance of 1940’s storytelling.

For it, let there be an Amen. Amen!
