Designer Kate Spade’s novelty shop, allows you to have your purse, croissant while carrying the two, in one. Arriving in two sizes, the Patisserie Pleated 3d Croissant mimics the folds of the fflaky pastry as a coin purse and a clutch. It looks like a date at the cafe just became a little fancier.  Ooh la la

Brooklyn, New York | There’s a home for cutlery that might look like a realized version of a digital Etsy shop gone brick and mortar. Named Salter House, the family owned Boerum Hill, Brooklyn business is like a  public home of decorative curiosities and the useful objects that inhabit it, according to their about statement, which also nods to their focus of gathering low waste products for your everyday experience.  In an adjacent room, see the art exhibition,  Picture Room, a curation of fine drawings by illustrator Joanna Avillez, now on exhibit as From The Desk Of, on view at Picture Room from October 14th – December 24th, 2022.  One collection that amuses is ‘Reading and Writing, the kind of activity done in coffee shops.  Sip and Stay.

Costa Mesa, California | Daydream Surf Shop is closing up shop….for a new and larger location. Did we catch you for a moment thinking the multi-roaster shop was closing for good? Ahhh..that would be a nightmare on Monrovia Street.  The new location, presumably answers their earlier problems dealing with landlords, parking and events. The culture looks forward to the answer expressed in a new space and a full food menu. Real estate. 

Austin, Texas |  Can slices, soft serve and canned coffee unite? All Day Texas thinks so. The triangular concept publicized its first pop-up during the weekend of October 22nd which took place at Made In Texas, a showcase of small craft business under one roof. The culture is staying tuned for how this concept, one being explored currently on the Austin scene will include specialty coffee. American Coffee

Nashville, Tennesse | It’s the pop-up shop that took the culture by purple storm, No Free Coffee.  The brand’s slogan, which doubles as a belief, is proving that paying for coffee, and a customized merch experience with each location drop is a successful business model. Its success has been buoyed by strategic collaborations in the food, streetwear and specialty coffee space, making its two-year anniversary party this Saturday a celebration worthy of attending. Pink cups only. 

Santa Monica, CA Fall is in full bloom and with it comes a new coffee shop open in the beach area of Santa Monica. Its name is is as much a directive as an intention of coffee lovers: Please Enjoy Cafe. Its coffee bar is indicative of cafe styles often seen in the era of the 1960’s in America – long bar complemented by round colorful sitting stools with an attendant ready to greet and be at one’s service.  They are serving a local micro-roaster out of Los Angeles called NightingGale Coffee Co. whose owner and heade beaner head beaner Jeremy Granados. Is a recognizable force on the Los Angeles coffee scene. Swing around.

National :A new magazine surveying coffee adjacent content  – Hey Barista, – dropped its premiere issue this fal featuring short talks, photo essays and feature storiesl. It’s pleased to announce that the  full version is now digital and available for coffee lovers and beyond to read.  It features stories from Algarve, Portugal, an Asian  barista who hasn’t had a first cup of coffee yet, a New York City bodega whose coffee fuels locals across various background to the Mexican truck driver running her route on passion and coffee.
