Walking for Coffee ‘Mi Vida Echo’ June 7th.

Walking for Coffee

A walking experience. We talk. We walk. We coffee.

About

Walking for coffee is a people’s experience – telling stories of culture while walking for coffee. Over the course of two hours, walkers will discover the history of a neighborhood with specialty coffee shops as destinations of culture along the way. Featured coffee shops – each serving specialty coffee – are chosen for their diversity in experience, design and cultural offering.

Mi Vida Echo

Mi Vida Echo is the name of the Echo Park Walk. Inspired by Mi Vida Local the 1994 film centered on life in Echo Park, this neighborhood covers 2.4 miles and is one of the highest density neighborhoods in Los Angeles with nine schools, two public libraries and one fire house – no. 20. Home to known artists, musicians and actors – they are as much a symbol of the neighborhoods diversity as it cultural relics.

This walk begins at Echo Park Lake, heads North to Sunset Boulevard, travels East to Andante Coffee Roasters, West to Stories Book and Café and Westward to Andante Coffee Roasters culminating on a hill at the border of Silverlake. Wall blanks, nature-filled houses and historic landmarks make for photo opportunities all along the way.
